The Automotive Recyclers Association (ARA) announced today that professional automotive recycling industry associations from nine countries around the world have now signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC). The MOC outlines a shared commitment to increase collaboration, cooperation and information sharing amongst the organizations. Representatives from Brazil, Canada, Japan, New Zealand and Poland signed the global document during the 76th Annual ARA Convention and Exposition held October 10-12, 2019 in Charlotte, North Carolina. They join ARA, MTAA/APRAA from Australia, the Vehicle Recyclers Association from the United Kingdom, and MUVATA from Malaysia as signatories. The MOC was a product of the 11th International Automotive Recycling Roundtable held earlier this year when participating Associations provided intelligence, statistics, and issues confronting automotive recyclers and associated businesses in each jurisdiction as well as other information on the global automotive market impacting the industry. As a result of the dialogue, associations determined to improve global collaboration, cooperation and communication. “We are proud that our 76th Annual ARA Convention provided the opportunity for so many more professional automotive recycling organizations to sign on to this important document,” said ARA President Chad Counselman. “As the voice of the professional automotive recycling industry, ARA is very encouraged by the engagement within this community of international auto recyclers and association professionals. Despite our geographical distances, we all share common interests and issues. I look forward to continuing the information sharing and further collaboration.”
